Hello all, I am new to the game, recently picked up a 54 3100 project - GREAT FORUM!!

I need some help with my transmission numbers decode

Main Case casting: 3686832 G
Stamped serial number: G0I93I64 could also be G01931b4???

I've narrowed the casting to 48-54 all w/3 spd exc FK/FJ, but the SN is baffling me

following the pattern of earlier transmission serial numbers, the first letter is the year and the second the assembly plant.
so I think G would indicate 49 and the O indicates Muncie Indiana check the 49 GM truck manual at https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/docs/gm-heritage-archive/vehicle-information-kits/Chevrolet-Trucks/1949-Chevrolet-Truck.pdf
