For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 154 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 154 | This on a 1954 235 truck motor. Does anyone know the part number for the rubber grommet in the oil pump screen? It attaches the screen to the tube coming out of the oil pump and the screen is bolted to the main cap. Or where to buy one? Getting ready to start assembly and noticed the grommet is hard as a rock. Don't think this will seal the screen to the tube on the oil pump. Thanks for any help. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2000 Posts: 2,773 | I have always made it a rule to replace the oil pump if I had the engine apart. That said: From the parts interchange manual you are looking for the grommet, pump suction pipe, p/n 3835868 http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/parts/1929_54/132.htmObsolete Chevy parts shows this part http://www.parts123.com/parts123/yb.dll?parta~partsort~1~cadeflkx Do not order via the computer. Call 1-800-248-8785 to be certain you get the correct part.
