The next day after discovering what I had done I charged the bat. & it would not start. I got to checking for no spark & found it had blown the top almost off the coil. It has petronics igniter with there performance coil. It started with another coil. I'm just glad it didn't blow the module.

Leaving the ignition in the "on" position is to be expected from some of us younger non-mechanic guys, but you?
Seems like this is another procedure from a different time that we have slowly forgotten. With warning buzzers in newer vehicles, leaving a key in the ignition at all is really not an issue any longer.
I think I am going to create a procedure that will eliminate leaving the key in the ignition.
Good to hear that the damage was relatively minor.
