Having hard time reading what the numbers are on my rear axle housing any guesses?? It is on my 47 1.5 ton. I'm gunna say whoever had the punch set that day was hungover or just wanted to have fun, either way I can't figure it out

Hard to say why it's stamped like that. However, the "QL 0815" does come up as a legit code. QL, standard 4000 series axle built at Detroit, 0815, built on August 15th.

Awesome thank you any chance you know the ratio? I thought it said 0 upside down 7 then a hole bunch of haha try and read this kinda numbers, Detroit humor I guess, now that you say QL I can see that makes sense

Thanks for that picture. Still laughing. Sorry that glimpse into employee/management relations has lasted so long. But the picture is worth a 1000 words. Good luck getting it sorted. Worst comes to worst, pull the rear cover off and count teeth. Only costs a gasket and some gear lube.
