I know that this has been discussed several times but have never been able to get a good answer. I am looking for a 1/2 ton, drivers side spindle for my truck. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know ASAP.
Thanks,
Nate

You could try eBay (51-59, I think).

Or, place a Want Ad in the Swap Meet.

No one makes a reproduction spindle/knuckle.

You might find a NOS one, but that might take a while.

You might find a good used one - make sure you ask if the floating bushings just float (you do not want them wobbling).

1941-50 1/2 ton spindles will also work if you drill the two lower bolt holes from 7/16" out to 1/2".
1951-59 are a direct replacement.

Thanks guys! I'll post a wanted add to see if I get any hits. I have a 3/4 ton axle with spindles, so I may take them off and take them to a machine shop to have them turned down to the 1/2 ton size.
Does anyone know the exact specs of the 1/2 spindle, that I could give to the machine shop? I'm taking them the 1/2 spindle so they can measure it, but I was wondering if anyone had the specs too???

You should have no trouble finding a good used one. Even if the axle is in a growd up fence row, the working parts of the spindle are smothered in grease.

Nate, it is a little more than the spindle diameter difference between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton. The bushing size is also different, and I suspect the 3/4 ton spindles are also longer.

OK thanks. I think I am on track to get another 1/2 spindle. I've have several guys on here checking to see what they have. I think this would be the cheaper way too.

"You might find a good used one - make sure you ask if the floating bushings just float (you do not want them wobbling)."

Most steering knuckles that have been sent to me were no good (very loose bushings - a very common malady). Some of the sellers gave all my money back. None of them asked me to send one back (they said to throw it away). Try to find a seller who knows what to check-for and will guarantee the knuckle is useable.

Will do, thanks for the advise. I'm looking to find one from some of the guys on this site. Hopefully they will find one that will work...
