For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 158 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 158 | Hi everyone. I just bought a '60 1/2 ton, and I've been looking around for pictures of these trucks.
I've noticed (aside from the fact that 60's and 61's are pretty rare) that it's REALLY hard to find pictures of these trucks with the custom trim options. Any idea what percent were bought with/without? My truck has few options, but I'm interested in doing some upgrades. Here's my questions:
1) Is there anyplace that you've seen to have descriptions of the trim options? In particular, what would have come with the package that gave you a chrome grill?
2) How did the trim option packages apply to a stepside? I'm guessing that there wasn't any trim on the bedsides or fenders.
3) Is there something on these trucks equivalent to the RPO sheet in the glove compartment on the 67-72 trucks? I'd like to know what the factory color was.
Thanks for your help!

I know the Custom cab trim varied from year to year, but usually included trim around w/s, cab "flags" made of stainless or aluminum, cloth seat instead of vinyl, chrome grille/bumpers, sunshade for pass, armrest for driver etc. Chrome bumpers/grille were available separately, as was side trim. Steps had no side trim w/Custom option. Build sheets was behind seat springs, usually long gone.
