oldblue48 'Bolter O Joined: Feb 2012 Posts: 46 Littleton, Colorado	Purchased a '48 1/2 ton advanced design. Never seen this running board configuration before. It definitely looks factory. Note how the splash aprons are flat, and board is a 2 piece. Can anyone shed some info on this? Pics in photobucket link. Thank you

showme 'Bolter S Joined: Nov 2014 Posts: 623 southeast Missouri	Seems to me after looking through some of the old informational papers on AD's, that they listed some trucks with just the cab, no bed or fenders, as an option for using a utility or flat bed on. Maybe (?) this was originally sold with short boards to utilize that sort of add-on? "When I rest, I rust" 1951 3100 5 window w/ '56 235

GM used to state in Truck Data Books that over 50% of is trucks required alteration/addition of "vocational equipment to meet the user's requirements". Buyers would use GM or other options as needed - look through the pages for cabs (and partial cabs) and chassis combinations in every size of truck.
