Are the grills in a Big Bolt about an inch taller than the grills in 1/2 thru 1 ton in a 47-53 truck?

Any info would be a big help

Thanks

I don't know how much bigger but the are bigger and won't fit.

When I went to reassemble the front clip I was gaining [ or losing ] ¾ to one inch Things came to a halt when installing the grill.

I brought my 53 ¾ pickup over beside it and measured this grill appears to be about ¾ to 1 inch shorter and confirmed by clitis in a post above .

I found another grill that the guy swears came from a ½ pickup and it is the same size as the one that does not fit.

The frame rails on the one ton extend past the front of the truck and this appears to be the part of the fitting problem

So my question is, did they also use different size grills in the ½ . ¾ and one ton trucks I really do not want to take the original grill out of the pickup .

ANY advise would be helpful

Thanks
Dan

I believe that the 1/2, 3/4, and 1 ton trucks all used the same size grill (as well has fenders and hood).
Only the 1.5 and 2 ton trucks had a larger grill, in order to accommodate their larger size fenders ( due to the larger tires that they had ).

Thats what I was told, however someone may correct me if i'm wrong.

Have a picture of the frame rail as they extend out the front?
I ask because the 1 ton and the 4100 1.5 ton have a lot of similarities and the frame at the front is one of the differences, otherwise the frames are nearly the same given the same 137" wheelbase.
Could be you have a 4100 frame and not a 3800 frame?
I'm unclear how this relates to the fit of the grill...

I know that the 1 Ton frame extends further forward then the 1/2 Ton. The bumper supports on the 1/2 Ton curve out from the frame whereas the 1 Ton has bumper attachments on the front of the frame that attach to the bumper support which is a cross bar.
