I have a 235 55-57 chevy and the harmonic balancer pulley itself will not keep paint on it. Have any of you ever seen a galvanized pulley on these factory.

Always bare steel. Scuff with sandpaper, clean with brake cleaner and paint.

That's what I did but only thing different is in the beginning I soaked it in mollasis and water to remove rust on the outer ring. Washed it off thensandblast brake cleaner and dried then sprayed. Almost all lifted the next morning, and I can scrape it off by fingernail on just the pulley. Guess I'll try it one more time.

Try some self-etching primer. Rustoleum makes some that I have have good results with.
