Lennart,

There was no 1954 3100 flatbed option. There was a 3103 Chassis & Cab (with rear fenders but no bed) on which a flatbed could be placed by the owner or by another company. Also, anyone could remove the bed and fenders and put on a flatbed.

Are you sure it is a 3100 (you are right - it is not a '53)? What is the VIN on the plate on the forward side of the driver's-side door opening? The photos you posted seem to show that there were modifications done on the front axle and rear end.

What is the width of the rear springs - not the end-to-end length, just the side-to-side width of a rear spring (1 3/4" or 2"). How many leaves are there in the rear springs?

Tim
