It used to work fine but now the float sticks and it floods off and on. I have rebuilt it once, but I think it's just worn out. I'm considering replacing it with one of the Holly Weber setups. My question is if this is a good idea, or should I just order a new Rochester. I use this truck offroad only at the deer lease. I seldom get above 20 mph. I just need it to run smooth. I have no doubt the Holly Weber setup is better, I just question if I need it in my situation? Any opinions? | | |

It,s about as simple a carb as is out there. Make shure there is an inline filter going into the carb. Most flooding is caused by foriegn particle in the needle & seat. Shake the float when you get it off to make shure it hasn,t got gas in it.

I don't know what you have for a fuel filter, but it sounds like dirt in the carb. If you put a kit in it, check the throttle shaft for wear. If it moves more than .007 laterally, the shaft will need a bushing.
I'm not too fond of the rebuilds being sold nowadays, most have been done by the same people that do the starving artist paintings.
