I am working on the interior of my 51 2 Ton and would like to find the correct boots for the shifter and parking brake. When I pulled up the Trans cover I found that the shifter had a very think Gasket around the base that looks like it may have had a rubber boot at one point. The Emergency Brake had a metal bracket rattling around. Is there a source for these? I cannot seem to find any documentation about the differences in the 2 ton cab interior from the 1/2 ton.

I don't have a two ton, but since nobody has answered you, I'll take a shot. I first checked American Classic and Jim Carter, because those are two vendors that have been very faithful in supporting our site financially. (American Classic has supported us from the beginning, including buying our servers in the past when we couldn't afford to buy them ourselves.)

American Classic has the shifter parts: ACCELERATOR PEDALS, PADS AND FLOOR PARTS and the parking brake parts BRAKE CABLES, PARTS (PARKING/EMERGENCY).

Jim Carter has the parking brake boot Park Brake Related Parts and the floor shifter boot Miscellaneous Floor Parts.

I then went to LMC, a vendor I have used in the past that seems to have an extensive catalog. I found this: Page 46.

They list a rubber cover for the shifter and a pad and cover for the parking brake.

I would caution you, however, that none of these vendors distinguish between 1/2 ton and larger trucks, so I would call them and get clarification that these fit your truck before ordering.

I have bought parts from all three of these vendors and have had good experiences with each of them. I have been to American Classic's warehouse and Jim Carter's warehouse and have met the owners. You can trust all three of them to give you good service and handle any problems professionally.

Thanks Paul for the tips. That is why I asked, I have not seen anything that clearly says its for a larger truck. I know they had several types for Pickups. I will give them a call and ask.

I believe the transmission shifter boot would be the same for big and small trucks.

The EM brake boot is different. The big trucks have a larger floor opening because the floor is higher making the lever throw longer. They use a boot that is installed upside down, this puts the flexable point of the rubber boot closer to the pivot point of the brake lever.

I believe for the AD's the floor brake used a sponge seal as did the floor shifter, the rubber boots came later? I don't believe either one was actually a factory item. It appears from the following the starter bellows was.

OOPS, I may have spoken out of turn (2 posts above this one)...I was thinking you had a 55-59 truck. I'm not the one to ask about the AD trucks...sorry if I caused any confusion.

Thanks for the pictures Brad, That does sort of clear things up. It would certainly explain the lack of the rubber boots. My truck has the "well Worn" seal around the shifter, but the Ebrake did not, but had a metal flange of sorts floating freely around the base of the handle under the transmission cover plate.
