Is there a way to remove the front wheel(brake)cyl. without pulling the hub off? This is on a 56 3200.

Do you have a Shop Manual?

Have you removed the tire/wheel and looked at the drum?

The front hub is part of the drum. The drum has to be removed to get to a wheel cylinder. Unless you are talented, you will have to remove the brake-shoes and springs/etc in order to remove the wheel cylinder.

Do you have any brake tools?

Everthing is off except the backing plate The hub(part that mounts the wheel) is blocking taking the cyl. off By taking the nut,bearing off i will get access,is that the only way?

Think we might have a semantics situation here. What you're
saying doesn't make sense. I have to assume that you're
calling the 'wheel' which mounts the 'tire' the 'hub'....it's not.
As Tim pointed out, the front 'brake drum' and 'hub' are an
assembly, if everything is off as you posted, then the
'hub and drum assembly' were the first part that had to be
removed before you could get to the shoes. At that point all
that's left is the backing plate with the wheel cylinder
bolted to it by two bolts. And as Tim mentioned, and as we
used to say at Christmas time when putting together the
kids new toys, if all else fails, read the instructions.

The hub and drum are riveted together as stated above. However, it is possible that the drum may have been changed at some point. Most of us do not re-rivet a new drum to the hub so the drum can come off without removing the hub. It's still probably not possible to get everything apart without removing the hub. Therefore just remove the cap, cotter pin, nut and the hub will come right off.
