| | | | Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 46 Member | | Member Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 46 | I HAVE A 53 1/2 SHORT BED AND THE RUNNINGBOARD BRACKETS THAT ATTACH TO THE FRAME I SEEM TO BE HAVING A PROBLEM LINING THE BOARD ITSELF UP ON THE BRACKET. IT LOOKS LIKE THE BRACKETS COMING OFF THE FRAME NEED TO BE AT AN ANGLE IN FRONT OF THE REAR FENDERS AND THE ONES I HAVE GO STRAIGHT. AM I WRONG? I HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH A NICE GENTLEMAN FROM WA STATE AND WE ARE PULLING OUR HAIR OUT. THESE BRACKETS TO ME LOOK LIKE THE FIRST TWO OF THE THREE ON EACH SIDE ARE STRAIGHT WITH THE THRID OFFSET TO MISS THE FENDERS IN THE REAR. CAN ANYONE HELP I AM AT A LOSS? | | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 769 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 769 | Check to see if you are installing the rear brackets on the correct side of the frame. If they are installed on the opposite side they may appear to be straight out, in reality they should angle to the rear if installed on the wrong side. This is because the rear bracket is angled to the front in relation to the frame rail as well as the center line of the frame. The front and center bracket being angled to the rear in relation to the frame rail, making them perpendicular to the center line of the frame. | | |
