I'm installing my seats and before I do anything hasty I'd like to know a couple things.
1. How much structural strength to the cab is provided by the AD seat base/riser platform?
2. Has anybody removed this to install other seats?
Thanks.

The PO cut the riser out and added bucket seats in my 52. A friend told me about bases that Speedway sells. They're cheap and did a good job.

We cut the seat riser assy out of my son's '53 some 28 years ago to mount buckets. No issues with cab flex. He still has it and drives it when he can.
