I am having trouble adjusting the seat in my 1950 3600. It is the stock bench seat I believe. Is there something that is known to fail on these to stop them from moving? I can't get it to budge and can't see anything that may be blocking it. I'm new to this truck so sorry if this has been covered in the past. Thanks for any advice you may have.

Rust is not your friend. Lots of pulleys, cables, and levers. Take the frame off, flip it over, then scratch your head trying to figure out why anyone would design a seat adjuster in such a way, then try moving each moveable part by hand until you see what is hanging up.

Mine wouldn't move either, finally took it out the other day. In my case I think it's mostly due to friction and lack of lubrication between the seat frame and the rail it slides in. Check it out, could be your problem. I hit it good with pb blaster and worked it back and forth with a plastic mallet a few times- still tight but better than it was. I'll grease it up good and put it back in.. Also, have someone sit on the passenger side and work it forward as your work the drivers side forward-sometimes when they're tight and your just trying to rock it forward from the drivers position it can put a bind on the mechanism and it won't move forward. One more thing, make sure that when your depressing the lever on the drivers side the connecting latch underneath the seat on the passenger side is also disengaging from the slot it locks into.

Do either of you know how to remove the frame? Where are the bolts connecting it to the floor/bracket? I'm out of town right now so can't go look, but would like to be as informed as possible when I do get home. Thanks again,

Thanks for posting this. I'm having the same problem, but haven't opened up the seat yet. At least now I'll have a clue as to what to look for.
