Is the switch spring loaded or does it drop by gravity when brake is pushed? Mine just stays on the firewall. Thanks.

So when i braked full (pedal as far pushed in as possible) the switch would come over the brake pedal and brakelights where ignited untill i would push the switch back by hand. So compare the old with the new switch so you know they're identical before you install it. If yours is shorter to you could just weld it a bit longer.
