I've got 55 2nd GMC. Can you remve and replace? I've just about destroyed my original one and it's still in place. Thanks.

| | | | | Joined: May 2012 Posts: 574 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2012 Posts: 574 | just remove the screws from around the inside of the door and gently push it out the back and out from under the dash, may have to wiggle it a bit to get it free, but it IS 60 year old cardboard material, so it may not come out real easy OR in one piece. also, if you have a heater you may need to pull the heater to get a glovebox in or out hope this helps and isn't confusing, Indy

Box won't clear fan motor, so I thought I was missing something, thanks.

Turn it side ways as far as you can & pull it out by the end. It will bust up if its the old original. There is reproduction ones available. I just put in Vintage Air & it has a little skinny one that comes in the kit. The A/C unit takes all the space.
