I was thinking about installing a new cam in my truck and was wondering instead of removing the engine completely can the front fenders, rad brace, inner fenders, grille and front lower rad support all come off as one component easily? I can only see the fender to cab bolts and the 2 rad support bolts holding the entire assembly on. Has anyone removed it like this before?

What year truck? Some of the models the radiator support is the fender support & vice versa.

No need to remove the entire front end BUT it makes access easier.

Just remove the radiator and front grill, pop the front engine mount loose and raise it a few inches so you can remove the oil pan to access the two bottom bolts of the timing cover and your good to go.

I made 'the change' so I no longer have to drop the oil pan to pull the Cam...

I have removed 54/55 inner/outer fenders, radiator support/cover, and grill assembly as "one piece". Is that called the "front clip"?

It takes 2 or 3 people to do this safely/easily.

With all of the nuts and bolts holding the just the grille on, I would pull the entire front clip off as a unit. It is amazing how few bolts hold the assembled front clip on the truck, especially at the front (two bolts under the radiator support).
