What do you think the story is behind this truck?

I am curious how such a nice looking cab can have a messed up area like the passenger's side cowl? I am wondering if this truck has had a super bondo job.

Is that "messed-up area" possible the result of a side mirror being ripped off?

Arcticat,
that is what I was thinking. To me, the rest of the truck looks too good to be true. I am wondering if it has had some very nice looking bondo work done on it and this is the first piece to pop.
