I received the new hinge bolts, but the old ones came out looking pretty well stripped. I want to run a tap through those welded nuts on the hood. Just went and purchased a tap set from Sears . I need to know the tap size and thread count of these hinge bolts, want to do this right the first time. Just looking at it 5/16" 24 thread count? thanks HUGH

I verified the thread size is 5/16", 24 thread count. Be sure to use WD-40 or some other lubricant on both surfaces. I ran a tap through the welded nuts that are affixed to the hood that couples with the hinges. And installed the new hinge hardware bolts. Just be careful not to go in to hard and reverse the tap periodically before proceeding forward. Snapping off a tap in the nut assembly is not even an option.
