Is there a source for steel replacement running boards for the 1/2 ton 41-46 chevrolet pickups? I can only find fiberglass when I do a search?? TIA

I got a pair of steel boards with the 46 I recently bought. They are not like the originals. Where the originals curve to the form of the cab the new steel ones are straight and do not match up correctly. I was going to use them on my 41 but went with the fiberglass which match nicely. Dave

Dennis, Thet boards I found on the e appear to be the short boards, & not the full length 1/2 ton type. Did I miss something or are you referring to a reproduction smooth board? Thanks!

Brand new steel 41-46 OEM style (with ribs etc.) running boards for short and long beds are not manufactured by any vendor. Smooth running boards are available. Original running boards can be pricy on Ebay and the short cut-off style for the bigger trucks seem to be more available. It will take some patience and a cash outlay. It seems that people that use the fiberglass repro's like them for what they are.

Thanks Tom.....I understand they will not be cheap. Very familiar with that law of supply/demand.

Thanks!

Just for your purchase pleasure - the short bed running boards are approximately 83" long. The long bed running boards are approximately 96" long. Don't do as I did and receive a long bed set when I needed a short bed board. No problem selling them though...

All parts offers, requests, etc. must be done in the swap meet.

Thanks.
