Can't believe I'm this stupid, but here goes. A while ago I took the dead battery out of my '58 6 cylinder Chevy pickup. I know I disconnected the negative cable first, but problem is po wired both connections with red cable and I don't recall which way the battery was installed. So my question is this: One cable goes to the starter and the other attaches to the fire wall. Can someone please tell me which goes to the negative post and which goes to the positive. Thanks in advance if you can help me out.

One red cable would have the clamp squished smaller than the other..that would be negative. At least that's how it used to be.
