What are you trying to find out? If you are customizing usually the answer is anything can be made to fit anywhere.

Yep 4 wheele drive 64 Chevell,62 wagon,Austen Healy with 350/350. If you build it they will drive.( Field of dreams)There are cars that float and cars that fly, it can be done. lol this could turn out to be a good topic. I think he just meant "retro" with 90's door handles BUT I kind of like the idea of "Retro 90's" better. lets see for that you would need deep dish satin billet enkei wheels, flourescent windshield wipers w/fins, cellular look-a-like radio antenna, wet-suit material seat covers, 3 different colors of anodized stuff on the motor, miniature CB radio, large grey carpeted woofer boxes in the bed or behind the seats. uh what else?

just an update to now streetrodding ..(custom work) ...none of the young yuppy stuff,,,ya killin' me !!...lol.......i'm looking to ask quest. about how to's..... what i need to do the job...that's all....maybe this is an out of this world task...i remember going to auto shows and the custom work would just blow me away...like man ...how'd they do that ???...ya know like curiousity killed the cat lol.....gary

Just check around this and other sites for more specific questions. I think you mean shaving (gulp) doorhandles and stuff like that. Some of that is talked about in areas of this forum

They do a lot of modifying at the H.A.M.B but it is an aquired taste.

Make a list of the modifications you like and then look for doityourself articles. Magazines are good places too.

Or... go original. :p

hello garys. to answer your first question, this forum is the best tech source for just about any type of work you will do on your 51 truck. cruise through the different sections, and do searches for what you don't immediatly find. all aspects of rebuilding are covered here whether you like stock, custom, or even retro 90's.[to be honest, i don't know what that is]. look in the tech section to get suggestions on where and how to start. the gallery is loaded with pictures to give you some ideas. some of the pictures sent in have great desriptions of the work that was done, and the changes that have been made.hope this helps. good luck

GaryS, lol I here ya I was just kidding around. I think restorers outnumber rodders on this board 1000 to 1 but its a great board. By far the best early gm truck people and information anywhere.

I am rodding my 3/4 ton and some pics can be seen on my web page . Shaved, Chopped soon to be Z'd, channeled, stretched, sectioned and a dash of "gulp" and "gasp" for my stovebolt restorer friends My other favorite board is RRT . Tons of rodding and chopping experience there.

Also get a copy of Classic Trucks. That might be a good place to start lots ideas in there. http://www.classictrucksweb.com/ You might even be able to find some 90's retro.
