Does anyone have a source for a hood emblem for a 1951 6400? It is my understanding that they are slightly different in size from the ones used on the smaller trucks. Thanks

The emblems on the 1 1/2 and 2 tons are a little bigger, it appears they are about the same length and height but are a little wider at the top. I have not found anywhere that reproduces these yet. There is a place in, B.C. Canada that might. Their website shows many NOS parts but I called on this and found out they are actually made in China. I have no idea if this is the right one for the bigger trucks or not. I am also looking for a new emblem for my 52 6400 with no success so far. I checked with Paul's Chrome plating in Penn and was quoted $500 to replate it! I took pictures some months back of the one off my 2 ton compared to one on a 51 3/4 ton I have out back of the garage. You can see the difference in the 2nd picture.

Thanks for the information and the pics. There obviously is a difference. Do you have contact info for the source in Canada? Thanks

The company is Collectors Auto, their website shows an address in Oroville, Washington but I think that is a shipping facility they use. The company is actually in British Columbia. Phone is 800-414-4462. The part number for the emblem for these trucks that I found in my Chevrolet parts book is 3684340. Their website shows these to be NOS but they are imports. They show the above part number but I have no idea if these are actually the right emblems or not. I have also seen posts from others on this site saying the Chinese repros are real poor quality. Hope this helps.
Steve

I have a 47 canadian 1.5 ton (1133).
it has the big bolt front bodywork.
I bought the standard emblem, never had the original, never noticed a problem.
It bolted straight on. Looks fine.
