Master cylinder, brake shoes, wheel cylinders, and brake lines.(hard and soft) Heres the issue; my supplier of the hard brake lines sent a complete set but the rear axle lines are 3/16. What is on there now are 1/4, is this going to be an issue? This is a 3/4 ton and all the stock lines are 1/4. Any thoughts on this? I guess i could put them one and see but wanted to try and save time and a brake fluid mess! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 430 | 1/4" is fairly large. I think my 2 ton has 1/4" to the back and splits to 3/16" to each side.... Maybe. It's been a little while since I had those off. I'll check tomorrow. | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,066 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,066 | The correct lines for the 3/4 truck are 1/4". Since the original lines are 1/4" and if the new wheel cylinders match the originals, the fittings on the 3/16" lines will be too small. Have them send you the correct lines. Fred

Ecklers and Classic only offer 1/2 Ton, 3/16" lines. | | | | Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2012 Posts: 1,747 | Do the fittings work on the wheel cylinders? If you got a "KIT" and all the fittings match you will be just fine. If the line fittings don't match call the vendor and see what thy can do. They just might have a solution. Or they should take the kit back and refund the Dollars.

That size tends to have a higher burst pressure, so it's used for disc brakes. 1/4" is fine for an all drum setup, but 3/16" works as well. If you want to use the brake lines you ordered, you should be able to find adapter fittings to make the 3/16" line work. | | |
