One of the tech articals in Stovebolt shows how to adapt 1959 pickup hubcaps to later chevy six lug rally wheels by cuting off part the rally wheel center cap and attaching the older style hubcap clips to the modified rally center cap ring. My question is: can I adapt the even earlier 1941-1946 hubcaps to rally wheels center caps the same way as the gentalman did with 1959 hubcaps? The rally wheels I have are off about a 1974 blazer and have about a 9 inch center area for the hubcap to rest on. Is there a difference between the 1959 hubcap diameter and the 1941-46 hubcap diameter as to how they attached to the orignal wheels. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
haven't seen that tip, can you link it? all Chevy caps from 30's to 1960 have the same mounting diameter, only real difference is before 55 they used 6 clips, 55-60 used 3 clips
