The advantage is in using a small-gauge wire from a control switch to operate a heavy-current accessory without running the current a long way to the dash and back.
Most of the relays with a cube housing with 1" dimensions have a 30-amp capacity. There's a 60-amp variety that is a bit larger, about 1 1/2" on each side. The price in the ad above is outrageous- - - -they're on Ebay all the time for about $3.00 each- - - -with connector plugs included.

The best price I see is about $8.00 (no tax and free shipping)
(It will not be Hella brand, but it might be Delco brand).

The generic 30-40 amp relays are going for an average of $2.00 apiece, with the 4 or 5-wire plugs included. I've been using them for years, and the brand name isn't particularly important.

Summit and some other vendors list them for ten bucks each and
the outfit that's pricing them at twenty five is making trying
to make a killing on an item they probably buy for $1-$2 in
bulk.
