Question: My 63 1/2 ton 4x4 front brakes have the cam type adjusters for each individual brake shoe. My shop manual does not show this type of adjustment for the 1/2 ton 4x4. It does show something similar for the series 80. Can anybody say if these are original brakes? Thanks

Yes, original. Known as non-servo brakes. Hold cam while unlocking nut. Turn cam until drag is felt upon tire rotation, then back off slightly until just free. Tighten nut. Do both shoes, both wheels, of course. Just rebuilt/serviced my 1960 GMC K1000 brakes and hubs. Don't like closed knuckle, but that's what they have.
