For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 74 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Apr 2013 Posts: 74 | I FINALLY figured out why my speedometer worked when I spun it but not in the car. When I had the gear ratio changed it included an adjuster that the speedo cable attached to. Apparently it broke and was spinning. It may have also rounded off the end of the cable. I took it off, put on my original cable and it works! Speed may not be accurate but now I can figure out how far off it is and get a good idea of my speed. Thanks to all who offered suggestions. Now on to the next problem. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2014 Posts: 623 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2014 Posts: 623 | Thanks for that info, since I plan on changing out my rear end gears to 3.55 in the future. Nothing worse than completing a job and finding out it isn't finished after all.
