My first question is should the vents "Spring" open one way or another without the cables installed? Currently, mine don't spring open one way or another, which leads me to believe there should be a spring; but I'm not sure about this. I have the cables run and mounted, just can't figure out how to mount them to the vents so they can operated correctly.

| | | | | Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Feb 2002 Posts: 12,029 | the cables push/pull the vent doors and hold them in any position [full or partially open/closed], nothing 'spring loaded' .... there's a grommet where the cable goes thru and a clamp just inside there to hold the cable sheath, then the coiled end of the cable core goes over a peg on the door - the clamp may be missing - have an assembly manual? section 1 sheets 55.00 and 55.01 show it all

I've now purchased 3 different clips from CI and none are small enough to hold the cable in place. It seems the main way the system works is dependent on the outer cable not moving and you would think installing something so simple wouldn't be such a hassle....
