I am considering putting an open driveshaft in my '53 half ton, but I will need to get the open yoke rear cover and slip yoke for my trans. It is a SM420 trans. Does anyone know who might sell an open yoke conversion kit for this trans, or will I have to find a newer SM420 that has an open yoke? Thanks for any help.

eBay

Stovebolt.com Swap Meet

No one sells an after-market conversion kit.

Yes, you will need to find one that came off an open-drive-shaft version.
