Hi I'm a Newbie with stove but been working on my 1963 Chevy c20 for at least 6 year. I know some stuff but this is where I'm not sure. So my truck was originally a 3 on the tree but my father replaced the 3 speed with a th350. I would like the truck as original as possible so I'm working on putting a 3 speed back in it but I need the linkage. I found a1967 c10 truck that has 3 on tree but not sure if it will work for my truck. I've heard that three speeds were very crappy on the column but I can probably deal with it. Any help is appreciated thank you.

Some of the parts will interchange. 67 was a design year change but some of the drive train components remained the same. 6 cylinder trucks used the same short tail shaft 4 bolt side cover trans as the earlier trucks, some V-8 trucks used a 7 bolt side cover trans that was longer. They used different shift rods because of the side cover configuration. Depending on which trans and wheelbase you can also expect some issues with driveshaft length. There is nothing wrong with a 3 speed trans unless a person doesn't like to shift. If the 350 trans works OK I would leave it alone and save a lot of aggravation trying to mix and match parts.

Thanks Fred ya I already removed the 350 and I'm wanting to drive a manual problem with cars these days is you don't get to shift its always automatic or every now and then manual but I just want to have that challenge of drive on the tree instead of a manual on the floor or automatic. So my truck was a 283 but now 350 and the 1967 truck I think has a 292 straight six. So straight six would not work on my v8? Thank you

I didn't say it wouldn't work. There are a lot of variables, any Chevy transmission of that era will fit. You have other things to consider, do you have the correct driveshaft, crossmember, bellhousing, flywheel, shifter rods & arms. Some shifter rods may connect the column and the trans but it's possible they may not. Some of the later 292 flywheels used larger bolts than the smaller 6's & V-8's.

Ok thank you. yes I do have the correct drive shaft original crossmember bellhousing, flywheel but the onky thing I need is the shifter arms and the linkage. Thanks
