My '66 C-10 has got rust in the two front fenders (big surprise), and I just want to buy and install whole new fenders (Chevy Duty, LMC, etc.).
My dad, who's an old Ford buff said that often reproduction fenders are not as "crisp" or "sharp" as the originals - by which he means that the tooling is not as precise as the original, resulting in a repro fender that's inferior.
Has anyone been unsatisfied with whole fenders they've bought from the repro Chevy guys?
I'd rather do whole new fenders than deal with patch panels, and hammer 'n' dolly.
Thanks!

I ended up paying big bux for a NOS so it would match. The repros are thinner than orignal(no surprise) but seem to fit OK. Would have been less work to fix the one's I had. Metal should be different I would expect. The same bodyshop is using a set of Goodmark doors on a 1972 and they are not very happy with them. The window frame was very poorly attached and they ended up removing it and then welding on a used one. After they had painted and installed the door they can't get it to line up now that they have installed the door rubber. It appears that the door is bending from the pressure of the door rubber. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 63 Member | | Member Joined: Feb 2004 Posts: 63 | Hey Scoob I know where there is a brand new drivers side repo for 100.00 contact me if interested.Aaron | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 85 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 85 | I purchased brand new repro fenders for my '57 Belair from sherman and associates and they are perfect. | | |
