Has any body used one of these 3 speed floor shifter in a 3100. What's your thoughts on the shifter and installation. Just real tired of the column shifter

Put one in my 58 gmc. My column shift was tired as was my tranny. I ended up puting in a 3 spd out of a 71 c10, all scyronized, and it works great. The shift lever bolts onto the shifter mechanizm with two bolts and after installing it I was able to take just the shift lever and bend it to miss hitting the bench seat in 1st and 3rd.

Oh yeah. I just drive my truck, not a slam the gear for fast shifting, tire smokeing starts. Larry

Some of the earlier 3100 series the shifter doesn't fit right out of the box. What year is your truck/tranny?
