I have a 49 chevy 3100 and it's been converted to 12 volt to the point of running etc and fuse box. Does the bulb fittings have to be changed in order to run 12 volt bulbs or head lights? Does anybody have a chart for 6v to 12v bulbs and headlights?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

The bulb socket has to match the bulb base.

Here are some 12v - 6v bulb/base equivalents.

Yeah i done some searching but that says 54 so i wasn't sure if it applied to my 49 or not...so it does? What about headlights? I also seen where the fittings take both 6 and 12 volt bulbs so im good there.

If 54 and 49 use the same bulbs then these headlight part numbers should work. Can anyone verify?

#6014 (50amp low/60amp hi). The 12v halogen bulb is #6024.
