I'm changing a '49 cab to a '50 so I didn't ever have the original pieces. In '50 they went to a more simplified design, and these are the ones I'm talking about. | | | | Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 428 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2001 Posts: 428 | The originals on my 51 are painted the same metallic brown as the inside cab. | | | | Joined: May 2001 Posts: 71 Wrench Fetcher | Wrench Fetcher Joined: May 2001 Posts: 71 | Thanks for the info about the color. I removed two of these from cabs at a junkyard, brought them in, and the guy wanted $25 for the pair. I can buy them new for $8 each, ready to paint. His reply: "Those new ones aren't as good as the originals." Yeah, right. Real critical parts. I put them back into the cab and left. | | |
