Hi all, just got done with a custom 292 inline 6. Here's an over view. Head work: Lump ports 1.94 intake 1.60 exhaust stainless valves. 5 angle valve job (lol on that one) .030 off the head. Hot tanked and magnafluxed. Roller rockers. Smith brother's push rods.
Block work. .015 off the block to zero deck. .040 over bore with ross racing forged aluminum pistons. 200 grams lighter than stock. 18cc dish. Yields 9.5.1 compression vs 7.8.1. Stock rods balanced and refitted with sb 350 arp studs and bolts. Crank balanced and ground. Cam: Comp unltra pro magnum 268 duration 219 @ .050 .496 lift on a 110 lobe center. Comp lifters. Clevite bearings. Melling stock type oil pump.
Expected power out put 320 hp and 340 torue vs 153 hp and 260 torque and guys...there's still room for boost. Let me know what ya think!!! And here are some videos.

That would be cool. I was checking comps site and couldn't find it. Engine looks awesome! I'm excited to see a beefy inline6. You say you left room for boost. Lots of room under these hoods for a hair dryer (aka turbo) and inter cooler
Did you keep the 1.75 rocker ratio? Seems high and cause quite a bit of valve overlap.

I can explain it to you, I can't understand it for you.
Over on Inliners a new 292 build similar to yours was dynoed at 285hp and 310 torque "right out of the box" as quoted. There is plenty of room for an increase in both values. His ran a single 4 bbl.

I had a custom grind. This cam is not an off the shelf grind. This grind is a 250 grind done to a 292. Yep..stayed with the stock 1.75 ratio...never had issues yet. TJ

Yeah, I haven't been to the sight lately...mine is expected to make that or more...I built it to specs more around 310 hp and 330 torque. So...All I know is it'll be one heck of a sweet engine! lol

Did you have the head flowed? Do you have numbers? This build is great!
Didn't have the head flowed, but past spec indicates 264 cfm intake and 186 cfm exhaust. And my cam grind number is c62 5232 /5232 h 110+4 not sure if its the right one, but thats what was specified as the grind number. TJ
