Does anyone recognize the lug nuts/studs in this photo. These are different than the ones on the front of my truck. These are the rear wheel dually. Why do they have the square shape at the end of the stud? I am having trouble getting the lug nuts free. This frame has been sitting outside for a couple of decades. Any tips/info/advice?

Hy LewyBoys, those are standard Budd wheel inner and outer nuts, the hex nut holds the outer wheel on, the nut with the square head holds the inner wheel on. Sometimes the inner and outer nuts seize together, this can happen if the inner nuts were not tightened correctly. On the left hand side of the vehicle the nuts are left hand thread, on the right side of the vehicle the nuts are right hand thread, there should be an identifying "L" or "R" in the center of the square nut, hope that helps.

As rusty as they look, I would use some heat on them. It is really easy to break a stud off and then you have to pull the hub. The stud is only 3/4" and breaks easily The inner and outer nuts are available at any large truck dealership and they are cheap. This is the inner right. Left ends in L

Hey LewyBoys! 3B and crenwelge know their stuff. The '59 Viking bus has the same style rims.We soaked all the nuts with WD40,and PB blaster for about a week. Then we had to heat the nuts,and we used a "breaker bar",with a 4'pipe,to finally get them to break loose. Take your time with them,so you don't break a stud. Hope you can find some 22.5's,and get away from those RH5's! GOOD LUCK with your frame! How's the 261 coming along?
