The new accelerator pump with the kit is a bit loose in the bore, the seal is a little bit smaller than the I.D. of the bore it goes into. I was assuming it should be a snug fit, but maybe I'm wrong. Is it supposed to be loose? If not, will the seal swell up a bit and become a tighter fit? The accelerator pump seal is pink in color, I'm not sure if it is leather or rubber or whatever. Anyone here know more about this? My Rochester 2G was loose except for the bottom section of pump tube. I'd chek out the videos for your model. Good luck. The synthetic cups on the plungers do not seem to have the shrinkage issue. I don't know what issues may arise from the ethanol in today's fuel, I imagine most of the carb kits in circulation today were assembled long before fuel had any ethanol in it, hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | If its a leather seal you need to soak it in oil for a few hours. It should not be loose in the bore. You can try it by putting some gas in the bowl & putting the pump in the bore. It should squirt gas.
