I am told this power master cylinder (PN BM1751) from Master Power will bolt into my truck without modifying the cross member. Has anyone else used it? and did you find this to be true and work?

DADS50, which Disk brake kit did you purchase and are you using a power master cylinder? or just a dual one? if not power how much better does your truck stock with disk brakes up front over the drum with the dual master? Thanks Steve

hey buddy, I have the CPP one that bolts to the frame. I have not connected it yet, but it is supposed to be direct link up dual master cylinder.

Not using the booster.

I used the P.O.L. Kit

Manual master cylinder

I'm happy with the brake performance
But I cannot compare with the booster set up because I have not driven a truck with it.

The disc set up was a improvement over the drums on my truck.

Im with Dads50 on this one. No need to do anything but bolt it right up. Pics of my setup on http://devestechnet.com/Home/MorePix

I didn't go with the booster and I do not know if that was a good or bad thing yet. I wont know for awhile.

I'm the opposite of Dad. My 48 came with a big booster (like in first post) and it will stop on a dime...all drums, almost too sensitive. I've never driven an old truck without a booster, but modern folk seem to complain a lot about stopping from highway speeds. That said, Deve and Dad don't seem to have an issue. Deve's pretty darn particular (sorry Deve), so if he's good without it, I'd tend to lean that way, and not go through the hassle of a custom install.

My 1950 3600 was truly all bolt on. At this point filling the mc is a pain but I will soon fix that too. I did see a noticeable improvement with the dual mc. I did replace all brake hardware (except drums) along the way along with lines.

Thanks all for the information. One more question. POL or CPP for parts? POL lists their master cylinder as 7" CPP at 8", if there truly is a 1" difference POL would be the way to go as it is tight under the truck as we all know. I haven't completely decided yet but I figure if i'm buying and replacing everything but the rear brakes whats a little extra installation time as the cost difference is only $200 to go with the power master.

I've used this one without modifying anything and keeping the original pedals both brake and clutch

I believe its the same as master power's unit

That kit will not fit without modifications.

that kit will require at least one modification on a 1950 3100, (The O.P.'s question)
the transmission cross member will have to be modified or relocated.
