I found some that the guy said were original from a 1949 1/2 ton. He says they are 15in, 6 lug. Is there any issues with the different years? My '50 has 16" , but plenty of guys use 15". Depending on what was original your speedo could be off a little.

You cannot tell what the delivered wheel size was, unless you have the original order/receipt form.
On Chevrolet trucks the 16" wheels/tires were standard and a 15" option was available. The 15" tire diameter was most likely a little larger diameter than the 16" tire diameter.
I do not know about 1/2 ton GMCs in 1954; but, I think the GMC wheels might have been multi-part/piece.

The rears are 16" split rims and the fronts plus the side mount spare are one piece 16" rims. I've been looking for another one piece 16" rim...then I came across a set of four 15" rims from a Nissan 4x4 that are a pretty similar style so I thought they might give me better odds of finding used tires cheap. | | |
