If you want modern wire then this is the only thing I use. SXL; thick walled, special purpose automotive wire insulated with cross-link polyethylene. It is resistance to moisture and most solvents. Operates at -49 to 257degrees F. Meets or exceeds a bunch of S.A.E. Specifications.

www.delcity.net. I also buy their flame retardant slit loom. I have melted the cheapo loom bought at swap meets.
The only thing I want to go up into smoke on my car is the rear tires.
