Has anyone used clay for removing paint imperfections?

I just got in the mail today along with some lubricant from E......d and used it with good success on overspray areas on my rear fenders--the result of using a body man with a dependency problem.

But then that's a whole other story. grin

Is there a down side to using this product? Input please, before I try it on some other bad places on my truck.

I read a positive post from last fall by MARTINSR, so I was pretty sure it would work.

I have cleaned paint off my eye glasses, water spots off of glass, direct overspray off a plexiglass window! I see no reason to use it anywhere you need to clean something off a smooth surface. Just don't let the "lube" dry on it or it may leave marks.
