One looks like a long rivet with the end peened over others look like they have a tapered end and should just drive out. I've been soaking with penetrating oil no budge.
Also, what keeps the mirror arms fixed in position? It looks like the hinge pins just drop through the brackets with nothing to keep the arms from swinging back and forth. Thanks for the help. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 25 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Sep 2002 Posts: 25 | The door pins are put in from the top down, if the bottom side of pin is mushroomed you will have to file it. If you have access to a auto body jack you can use it, or put on your safety glasses and use visegrips and a short piece of 3/4" steel rod the hard the better (sucker rod)the rod they use on oil wells. Use the heaviest hammer as possiable. When get pin flush to hinge use punch same size or a bit smaller to remove rest of the way. For the mirror bracket the door pin goes through it, there should be a set screw that holds it from movingor as was on mine it had a weld tack used file to break weld. Hope this will help. | | |
