Can I buy the replacement windows? I have seen replacement windows that do away with the wings. Is this a good alternative?

Many vendors sell replacement glass for AD's, along with the rubber seals and miscellaneous hardware. Be careful when installing the new glass, it will try to seat too far into the frame (old age, rust expansion, etc.) and leaves a gap between the glass and vertical "cat whisker" strip.
edit: Most of those "wingvent delete" doors are actually earlier doors that didn't come with wing windows. Conversions are expensive and time consuming, requiring metal fab in tight areas. Much easier to go to the junkyard. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 55 Member | | Member Joined: Sep 2003 Posts: 55 | The doors are not the same the early ones had one piece of glass. I have 6 doors from a bulk deal. 10 bucks a door. The doors with one peice have turn down handles. You might want to try a shop before you order your glass. Greg
