I have a 52 GMC 2ton that is dark green in color.I want to paint the wheels and need to know what the exact color is called or a number for the paint. The wheels are a light shade of green and I'm pretty sure this is the original color.

I'm not sure if the GMC was different from Chevy for that year but the 20 inch original wheels on my 6400 were black after I got the dirt and rust off. I also have a 52 Chevy parts truck that has wheels that are black. I'm thinking wheels could have been painted years ago by some previous owner? Not sure if this is of any help or not.

IMHO, most trucks of various years (that I have seen) came in just black, BUT there are some that I did see that came in different colors, usually painted the same color as the truck

Unlike Chevrolet Advance-Design trucks, GMC New Design trucks often/standard had their wheels painted a different color than the body color (large and small trucks).

Light-green wheels with dark-green body was one combination.

I think there might be information about this on Rob English's (pre-'60) GMC website: www.oldGMCtrucks.com
