I have a 1953 chevy truck and I'm doing restoration on my truck and I had the I beam out do the king pins and the clean it up and I was wondering how can u tell if you installed the I beam in backwards. Do the king pin lock pins go in only one way ? Or with no spindles how do u know which way I beam should face ?

Where the axle mounts to the spring you will see two small holes. These are line-up holes for the pins in the caster shim wedges. The holes go to the rear.
The lock pins go in from the front with the steering stops and nuts to the rear.
