I currently am running a rotory vane type pump on my truck and it's really noisy even though it' mounted on rubber isolators. Seems to me I remember back in the day Carter or Stewart warner had a pump that would only run until pressure was reached then would just quietly tick when fuel was needed. Maybe they were diaphram or something. Memory is fuzzy at my age. Anybody help ?

I had a Carter electric pump many moons ago that would buzz and as the pressure came up it would slow to a tic every now and then.

I have a Holley red top pump on my Morgan. It only cycles as needed.
