It came with a 3 speed but the PO removed the column shift. I really want a floor shift so I found a sm 420 but the output shaft doesn't match up. I think it may have been off of a 1 ton. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can get this to hook up to the torque tube? Thanks, this Site is so helpful. | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 Bubba - Curmudgeon | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,262 | You need the rear cover/housing from an SM420 that was used with a torque-tube (1948-1954). It will replace the open-rear cover on later SM420s.
